The Parties discussed political, economic, and humanitarian aspects of the inter-state relations.

 

First Deputy Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee Taras Chornovil informed the delegates about the political situation in Ukraine and activities of the Foreign Affairs Committee. He called for boosting bilateral cooperation on the political, economic, and humanitarian levels. He informed about the establishment of a deputy group of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the inter-parliamentary liaison with Georgia, which includes members of all political parties. 

 

Giorgi Baramia declared that inter-parliamentary relations are vital for Georgia, "as they have a great potential and prospects of further development." He expects fruitful inter-state cooperation between the parliaments, parliamentary groups of friendship, and non-governmental organizations.  

 

The Parties also discussed the situation in Abkhazia and South Ossetia. Giorgi Baramia stressed, "Georgia will observe the principles of sovereignty and territorial integrity, aiming at the restoration of legitimate power and law order in Abkhazian Autonomous Republic."
